WACO, TX — A lifeguard rescued an 8-year-old girl who was unconscious after struggling to swim in the Hawaiian Falls wave pool.
The young girl was swimming in the wave pool around 11:15 a.m. while on school field trip.
A Hawaiian Falls spokesman said the lifeguard pulled the girl on to the rescue tube, where she spit up water and regained consciousness.
The girl was able to walk by herself to the ambulance, where emergency responders took her to the hospital as a precaution to evaluate her.
