WEST, TX — Law enforcement was called to West High School to assist with an assault investigation following an incident Thursday.

David Truitt, Superintendent of West ISD, said in a statement that there was an isolated student involving two students.

Law enforcement was then called out to assist with an assault investigation based on the actions of one student.

No weapons were involved.

Truitt said the matter was handled immediately, and the district is working with both families and local law enforcement.

Due to federal privacy regulations, the district said they cannot discuss student disciplinary matters. Any violations of the Student Code of Conduct will be dealt with accordingly, according to Truitt.
