FALLS COUNTY, TX — An investigator for the Falls County District Attorney's Office was arrested for DWI in McLennan County on Feb. 23.
Shane James was arrested by Robinson Police with a blood alcohol content level of .15, almost twice the legal limit.
In Texas, a person is legally drunk when their blood alcohol content level is .08.
James was driving South on Robinson Drive, and appeared to have trouble maintaining a single lane as it crosses in to the center turn lane, according to the arrest affidavit.
James made a left turn off of Robinson and went in to the grass yard of a church.
He then over corrected and crossed over to the center of the roadway to recover.
Officers observed a heavy odor of alcohol on James when they pulled him over, and an open container of beer in the front console.
James told police he had 4 beers and 2 shots of 4-5 hours.
James is listed as working for Falls County under District Attorney Jody Gilliam on the county website.
