WACO, TX — As shelter renovations are underway, The Humane Society of Central Texas is asking people for help finding temporary homes for dogs.
The remodeling is set to begin June 9-14. New insulation and a deep clean are the main parts of the process.
Due to the renovation, the shelter will have to clear out 90 kennels before remodeling. Temporary housing would only be for the length of the renovation.
"This is a big ask, but it's something that is going to benefit the animals in the long run, and it's something that I know as a community, we'll be able to help the city out with," said Don Bland, Director of Operations for the Humane Society of Central Texas.
All dogs must be taken by 5 p.m. on June 8.
