CHINA SPRING, TX — A historic bridge that has made its way through the Greater Waco area is now staying put, asking buyers to come to it. The Bosqueville Bridge at Childress Creek is for sale, along with a home on the property in China Spring.
The bridge was originally built in the 1800’s and was moved to China Spring in 1912. History enthusiast Randall Scott says when the bridge was built in Bosqueville it was the “first bridge across the Bosque River.”
The bridge, that now sits above Childress Creek in China Spring, once led soldiers who fought in the first world war into Bosqueville. After making its move to China Spring, a flood came through on Childress creek and washed the bridge downstream and they retrieved the bridge and raised it 7 feet taller.
