Two teenagers arrested after high-speed chase in Waco

WACO, TX — Two teenagers have been arrested following a high-speed chase in Waco.

Around 11:14 a.m., officers with the Waco Police Department received a call for service at the Oak Tree Apartments, located at 800 Rambler, regarding a disturbance involving individuals with weapons.

One officer arrived at the scene and saw a man getting into a vehicle that was said to be part of the disturbance. Authorities were also told that this man was in possession of a handgun.

The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver fled from police.

The pursuit lasted for about six minutes and ended in the 3100 block of Franklin Avenue in Waco. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle hit a curb, causing multiple tires to be damaged and disabling the vehicle. Multiple people got out of the vehicle and ran away.

After a short time searching, two people were taken into custody near the 3000 block of Franklin Avenue. Both of the suspects fled from the vehicle that evaded officers.

One of the suspects has been identified as 18-year-old De' Monte Keysean Davis of Waco. He has been transported to the McLennan County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest on foot. He was also booked in on outstanding felony warrants from Waco PD for deadly conduct and engaging in organized crime.

The second suspect is 17-years-old. Waco PD says his name will not be released at this time. He has been charged with evading arrest on foot.

Waco PD went on to thank the Department of Public Safety State Troopers, McLennan County Sheriff's Office deputies, and members of the US Marshal Lone Star Task Force that assisted with the pursuit and capture of the suspects.
