HEWITT, TX — The Hewitt Police Department is offering free active shooter training.
According to the department, the class teaches civilians "the tools to survive" during an active shooter situation.
The training is open to individuals 16-years-old and older. Anyone 17-years-old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
The training will be held on Saturday, August 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hewitt Public Safety Facility, located at 100 Patriot Court.
