Heart O' Texas Fair kicks off in Waco

WACO, TX — The Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo kicked off on Thursday in Waco.

New rides, food, livestock and rodeo shows are all part of the family fun taking place Oct. 3-14.

Wes Allison, CEO of the Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo, says the event kick off Thursday when the fair opens gates for "Sneak-A-Peek Night."

"It's an opportunity for you to come out and get a sneak peek and take a look at things. Gate admission is free with a coupon from Shipley's," Allison said.

Noah's Way Petting Zoo is located at Gate 11 for families who want to stop by and check out the animals they can pet and learn about. There are llamas, birds, pigs, goats, cows, a zebra and many more.

Regular gate admission for adults is $15, but can be purchased at a discounted rate online for $10. Kids age eight and under, get into the fair for free.

The rodeo is taking place every night until Oct. 13 and admission is included with your entrance fee. Gates at the ExtraCo Event Center open at 6 p.m.
