The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close Dutton Avenue between South 5th Street and South 8th Street starting Monday at 6 a.m.
The closure will last for about 6 months, weather permitting. Crews will perform work during both daytime and nighttime hours to upgrade utility lines in the area.
TxDOT said that access to residence halls in the area will be maintained from M. P. Daniel Esplanade, and for the Baylor Bookstore and parking garage.
As an alternative route, drivers will be able to connect to the northbound access road at 8th Street and 5th Street.
