WACO, TX — The Waco City Council unanimously approved converting Washington Avenue from a one-way street to two-way street on Tuesday.
City staff said the change would be beneficial for businesses. However, last month a petition started circulating asking the council to delay the decision until the reconstruction of I-35 is complete.
If approved, the conversion will be made when crews do scheduled resurfacing of that street.
In order to make the change final, the council must vote on the ordinance one more time at its next meeting.
