CHINA SPRING, TX — People in China Spring say enough is enough after a string of car break-ins.
Neighbors are now joining forces to help tackle the problem.
"It was past midnight, and I kept hearing noises that sounded unfamiliar outside, and this is what i was hearing, someone was trying to open my door," said Rod Rodriguez.
Neighbors in the community have noticed strange people walking up and down their road and are now using technology like Ring doorbells and floodlights to try to track down criminals and share footage with one another.
"That's a great idea. Watch out for each other. Those are the kinds of things that make your neighborhood safer and help us fight crime," said Sergeant Patrick Swanton with the Waco Police Department.
Swanton said the department receives several calls about break-ins every week and do plan to increase patrol but want residents to remain vigilant.
