SPEEGLEVILLE, TX — Gender reveal parties have become more popular and creative over the years.

According to Google, searches pertaining to "gender reveal party ideas" didn't start to spike until 2013. Pinterest , the online bulletin platform, recorded more than a 400 percent increase in the same search in 2017.

Speegleville couple, and parents-to-be, Brianna Martinka and John Baker didn't even think about a party until social media convinced her.

"I figured we would just know from the appointment," Martinka said. "But after all the Facebook videos and everything going on of baseballs and golf balls and all of that we were like okay we need to do something a little different."

Deciding they wanted to make a big splash for their announcement, and make it more personal, as Baker is a volunteer fire fighter for the Speegleville Fire Department.

"It's all been firefighter related, his proposal to me was a banner on the side of a fire truck saying, 'Brianna will you marry me?'" Martinka said.

They chose to color the water of the fire hose attached to one of the fire trucks. Once the water is sprayed it will either be dyed blue or pink. Both parents were hoping for a boy but they're excited to start a new family no matter the gender.

"Right now it's kind of surreal," Barker said. "It's a celebration of what we've come together to accomplish and celebrate life."

Their parents are excited to be grandmas once more. They are over joyed by the love that Martinka and Baker share. They haven't been to a gender reveal party before so the suspense and idea is making the day even more fun. Hearing about the idea first, they couldn't believe the creativity.

"I was like what, that's so cool!" Becky Sanders said, Martinka's mom.

"That's so cute, I can't wait!" Janet Ramirez said, Baker's mom.

With everyone ready, they lined up in the grass as someone rolled out the fire hose. In the hands of Martinka and Baker, they pulled the trigger and a line of pink water sprayed out as everyone cheered, "It's a girl!!"

Shocked and excited, Martinka can finally start planning for her August due date.

"Water came out pink and I started crying, I couldn't help it," Martinka said. "I'm so ecstatic."
