WACO, TX — A man's car, which he said he has had for 3 days, was hit by a train in downtown Waco Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and South 8th Street.

The driver of the car said he pulled in to talk to the concrete company about getting a job. He said the car was only parked for 3 or 4 minutes when it was hit by an oncoming train.

The man said he was not in the car at the time.

The area will be shut down until the railroad commission assess the scene. At this time, there is no ETA for when the area will be reopened.
