WACO, TX — Amazon has decided to open a new facility in Waco. The governor's office confirmed the opening of the facility.
The governor will be in Waco on Friday to make the official announcement that Amazon will be opening a facility in Waco.
City Manager Bradley Ford released the following statement regarding the purchase of property by Amazon within the City of Waco:
"I am aware of a land purchase by Amazon for a project in Waco. Waco representatives look forward to sharing additional information at an upcoming announcement."
Amazon currently employs over 43,500 Texans within its 17 fulfillment centers, 10 delivery stations, 4 Prime Now hubs, 3 tech hubs and 4 Amazon Air hubs.
The four tech hubs are located throughout Texas in Houston, Dallas and Austin.
The company has contributed $9 billion to the Texas economy and 32,000 jobs have been indirectly created by Amazon. These jobs are on top of their direct hires.
