CRAWFORD, TX — One Crawford Elementary student wanted to help residents of a nursing home in McLennan County.
His mom was working at a nursing home the week of Christmas, and that gave the 8-year-old the idea. He asked his mom, Stephany Tharp, if the residents get any presents.
She told him that unfortunately, they typically do not. This is when he decided he wanted to make them all Christmas cards.
She sent her son to school with supplies to make the cards, and students in his class at Crawford ISD came together to design them. They made over 300 cards.
Stephany said she plans to hand them out to residents of Westview Manor on Christmas Day.
