AXTELL, TX — A 16-year-old and 63-year-old Groesbeck man have been identified as victims in a highway crash near Axtell.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. Thursday on SH 31 and FM 2311 east of Axtell.
"A Ford SUV entered the intersection from 2311 and failed to yield right of way to a Toyota pickup truck," said a Texas DPS spokesperson. "The Toyota crashed into the Ford."
Officials said the driver of the Ford and passenger in the Toyota were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 63-year-old James Stanton, Jr. of Groesbeck. The passenger of the Toyota has been identified as a 16-year-old.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
