MEXIA, TX — A 15-year-old was killed in an accident on Wednesday in Mexia.
Police said that around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Mexia Fire and Emergency Medical Service personnel were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Limestone County Road 256, just outside the Mexia City Limits. Rescuers arrived on scene at 7:34 p.m.
Upon arrival and assessment, rescuers determined that an SUV had left the roadway and crashed.
There were three juvenile occupants of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
They said that one occupant, a 15-year old, male Mexia resident, was apparently ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other two occupants were uninjured and were released from the scene to their parents.
The scene was cleared at 9:48 p.m.
The identities of the vehicle occupants are not being released at this time, pending further inquiries.
