The victim in the shooting has been identified as 55-year-old white male, Kinney Clinton Byrd.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the homicide.
No charges have been filed at this time, according to police.

According to the Falls County Police Department, deputies responded to a shooting at 6588 Golinda Dr., and they discovered a deceased adult male upon arrival.
He had died due to an apparent upper body gunshot wound, police say.
Two adult males were detained and then released to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office for further investigation.
UPDATE
McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara has confirmed that one person was fatally shot this morning in Golinda, Texas.
McNamara also confirmed that a male, described as white, has been taken into custody in Golinda.
At this time, the sheriff said it appears the two knew each other.
However, the relationship is not clear.
