1st Cavalry Division Band to host a drive-thru Halloween concert

FORT HOOD, TX — Looking for a way to safely do the Monster Mash? Fort Hood has you covered!

The 1st Cavalry Division along with the Fort Hood USO are set to entertain ghouls and ghosts alike with a drive-in rock concert.

The Halloween “Spooktacular” will feature the 1st Cavalry Division Rock Band and the Division’s Horse Cavalry Detachment.

Organizers say attendees will be entertained with a variety of music from artists such as Bill Withers, ZZ Top, Drake, Evanescence, and the Foo Fighters.

Officials say multiple COVID-19 precautionary measures will be enforced.

“We will be spacing out the vehicle parking, providing hand sanitizing stations, and sanitizing the restrooms throughout the course of the concert,” said Capt. Taylor Criswell, Commander of the 1st Cavalry Division Band. “We just ask that you remain in the area near your vehicle for the duration of the show unless you are moving to or from the restrooms in the stadium

Pre-packaged candy will be handed out to vehicles as they enter the parking lot.

Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages. Alcohol will not be allowed.

Costumes are encouraged.

The Halloween Spectacular will be held on October 21 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Fort Hood Stadium.

Vehicles can begin entering the parking lot from Clear Creek Road at 11:00am and follow the signs to the correct area and ensure you get parked in accordance with the COVID-19 prevention measures.
