WASHINGTON COUNTY, TX — Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a two-vehicle fatality crash on SH 105/FM 912.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates on 12-27-2020 at approximately 5:55 p.m., a 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on SH 105 when a 2003 Ford F-250 pickup attempted to turn west onto SH 105 from FM 912.
The Harley-Davidson had the right-of-way. Both rider and passenger of the Harley were ejected. A secondary crash occurred when a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup traveling eastbound on SH 105, struck the at-rest body of the rider of the Harley.
The rider of the Harley-Davidson, 36-year-old John Travis Winn of Somerville, TX, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger of the Harley-Davidson, 31-year-old Kathryn Johann Winn of Somerville, TX, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital (Bryan) in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford F-250, a 17-year-old juvenile female of Washington, TX, was not injured.
The driver of the Ford F-150, 64-year-old Stanley Rose of Washington, TX, was not injured.
