COPPERAS COVE, TX — Several Copperas Cove High School graduates are returning to the same classrooms they learned in but this time as teachers.

All of them say they were motivated to become teachers by either educators in their families or teachers and coaches the learned from.

One teacher says it was the care his teachers took in their lessons that put him on his path to teaching.

Ty Johnson, a health and wellness teacher at S. C. Lee Junior High says, “not just in the classroom but those life lessons that make you want to get into teaching to begin with, I didn’t really have many of those in college but I had a bunch of them at Cove.”

The role teachers play during these trying times has proven to not only be hard but important to how students are getting through the COVID-19 pandemic.
