CHILTON, TX — Chilton ISD has decided to suspend all football activities until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns.

The school district initially received notice of a male student-athlete that tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday evening. The student attended school on Wednesday, Octoboer 7, and football practice on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

The school district is currently contact tracing and requires all individuals who may have had close contact with the student to quarantine.

Currently, Chilton ISD is suspending all football activities until further notice and will transition all varsity football players to remote learning pending further review of the situation.

Chilton ISD will offer on-site testing for those varsity players, coaches, and any other students who may have been in close contact with the student. For testing appointments, please contact Nurse Melissa Bobo at mbobo@chiltonisd.org.

Unfortunately, the varsity game between Hubbard and Chilton scheduled for Friday evening will be postponed.
