Residents of College Station and other towns in Brazos County are receiving a bit of relief for the rest of the month as the warrant amnesty period begins for the first time in 2020.
Citizens of Brazos County that have been charged with a Class C misdemeanor crime have until February 28th to avoid paying the $50 per case warrant fee in full.
Those who do not pay their fines risk getting arrested by city marshals, police officers and constables during the warrant round up from February 29 through March 8.

"We used to do it once a year and it was so popular that we do it twice a year, and the whole reason we do it is because I don't want to see people in jail. We want people to come to court, take care of their cases. It's a win for us and its a win for them," said Judge Ed Spillane of College Station.
