Woman killed while crossing the street to render aid to wrecked motorcyclist

KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department said that a 51-year-old woman died after getting hit by a vehicle while attempting to render aid.

Police said that on Nov. 21, a motorcycle was traveling in the outside lane of 38th St. As the motorcyclist approached Water St., a 2013 Chevy Impala, traveling in the center southbound lane, failed to yield right of way to the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to hit the Impala.

A third vehicle, a Kia Sorento, struck the motorcycle after the first accident.

The 51-year-old woman, Pamela Freeman, pulled over to help the motorcyclist. As she crossed the street, she was hit by a Chevy Silverado.

Freeman was brought to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

No on else was injured in the crash.
