KILLEEN, TX — A woman was arrested after she falsely reported that she was pulled over by two men pretending to be police officers.
The Killeen Police Department says on Saturday, October 26, a woman reported she had been pulled over by a white Ford Crown Victoria equipped with flashing red and blue lights.
She reported to an officer two men inside the car were wearing police uniforms and physically searched her before leaving the area.
An investigation into the incident revealed the woman made a false report, and the incident did not happen.
On Monday, November 4, 29-year-old Brittany Neshay Garrett of Killeen was arrested for false report to a police officer. She was taken to the Killeen City Jail.
“The Killeen Police Department takes the safety and trust of our citizens very seriously,” said Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble.
The department urges the community if they are ever concerned about being pulled over by an officer to always pull over in a well-lit, populated area. If you need to verify you are being pulled over by a real officer, call 911.
