CENTRAL TEXAS — Last week's severe winter weather left WIC clients with no food as it was lost or destroyed due to the weather. WIC clients can now get replacement benefits during the month of February.

“Clients are reporting lost food due to power outages or damaged food from pipes bursting and flooding homes or apartments. WIC can help,” said WIC Director Nikki Morrow.

The program provides basic foods such as bread, eggs, milk and more. The program can also refer families to other resources such as housing assistance, healthcare and financial hardship resources.

For those who need replacement benefits, contact Temple (254-778- 1511), Killeen (254-526-2033), Copperas Cove (254-547-9571) or Fort Hood (254-532-8680) WIC offices during the month of February.
