BELTON, TX — Two women have been arrested after a hit-and-run left an 82-year-old man in critical condition.
At about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, the Belton Police Department responded to an accident in the 400 block of West Loop 121 involving a pedestrian struck by a black 2016 Dodge pickup truck.
An 82-year-old man was transported to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
Officials said an on-scene investigation led to the arrest of Alexis Ortiz, 18, of Granbury, and Destiny Wolbrueck, 26, of Belton.
Ortiz was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance. Wolbrueck was taken into custody for failure to stop and render aid serious injury or death and tampering or fabricating physical evidence.
Ortiz and Wolbrueck were transported to the Bell County Jail, and are pending formal charges.
