Man arrested for January shooting at Bush's Chicken in Harker Heights

HARKER HEIGHTS, TX — UPDATE:

On August 17, 2020, Marquis Deon Henderson was taken into custody by deputies from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department on unrelated charges of burglary of a habitation.

During the arrest, it was determined that Henderson had an outstanding warrant related to the January 22, 2020 Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon at Bush’s Chicken in Harker Heights.

Marquis Deon Henderson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman who issued a bond of $500,000 for the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and he remains in custody at the Bell County Jail.

The Harker Heights Police Department is asking for the public's help after a man was shot at a Bush's Chicken.

The department says around 7:30 p.m. on January 22, officers were dispatched to the Bush's Chicken located at 250 Commercial Drive.

One man with obvious gunshot wounds was taken by ambulance to Scott and White Hospital where he continues to be treated for his injuries.

The Harker Heights Criminal Investigation Division is asking for the public's help in identifying two persons of interest involved in the incident.
