TEMPLE, TX — Two people were displaced after an early Tuesday morning fire in Temple.
According to Temple Fire and Rescue, firefighters reported to the house fire in the 2900 block of Indian Trail. The first unit arrived at 3:16 a.m.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire coming from an attached covered patio on the rear of the house with fire spreading towards the roof and smoke visible from the attic.
Two adults were safety outside in the front yard.
The dollar loss of the home and contents is estimated at $180,000. An investigation determined the fire started in the vicinity of the attached covered patio.
The fire was under control at 3:34 a.m.
It has been ruled unintentional with the cause still undetermined.
The two occupants were assessed by EMS and refused an offer of transportation. There were no injuries.
The fire has displaced the two occupants, and they are now staying with family.
Temple police, Temple EMS and Oncor Electric were on the scene.
