Three displaced after house fire in Temple

TEMPLE FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED TO A HOUSE FIRE WEDNESDAY MORNING. — Temple Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire Wednesday morning.

According to officials, the call was dispatched at 11:06 a.m. at 4006 Valley Drive for a reported house fire. The first arriving unit reported heavy smoke showing from a front window of a one-story brick residence.

A resident was home and discovered the fire. She closed the door to the bedroom before escaping outside.

Firefighters credited her quick action with preventing the fire from spreading and limiting the damage.

The dollar loss to the building and the contents is estimated to be under $30,000.

The fire was ruled unintentional with an undetermined cause. The area of origin was in the front bedroom.

Three people were displaced and are staying with family members.

There were no injuries.
