The Texas Rangers have been called in to investigate a potential improper relationship between a former jailer and inmate at the Bell County Jail.
The Bell County Sheriff's Office say leadership was made aware on Friday, September 4, of a potential improper relationship between a former jailer and inmate.
An investigation has been initiated into the allegation. Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers Division, have been called in to lead this investigation.
BCSO said Sheriff Lange takes these types of allegations very seriously and using an outside agency, such as the Texas Department of Public Safety, will ensure that this investigation takes place without the wonderment of bias and allows for complete transparency.
An update will be provided after the investigation is completed.
