BELL COUNTY — Minor injuries have been reported after a driver lost control on a stretch of ice-covered roads hitting a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper in his vehicle at 190 and Clarke Rd.

According to Sgt. Bryan Washko with DPS, the vehicle was driving at an uncontrollable speed on the icy roads when they lost control and hit the trooper's vehicle as he was investigating another crash due to the weather.

The trooper was reported to have minor injuries and was transported for evaluation.

The driver was also transported with non-incapacitating injuries.

Sgt. Washko reminds the public to slow down and use caution as the roads are extremely icy.
