TEMPLE, TX — Temple police said they are searching for information on a man suspected of scamming the elderly.
Police said the man approached the victim and said he inherited a large sum of money and wanted to give the victim $40,000. The victim did not know the suspect.
The man reportedly asked the victim to give him $10,000 to prove he could be trusted and that he would give him $40,000 in return.
The victim withdrew the $10,000 and gave it to the suspect, who then left the area.
