TEMPLE, TX — Temple police are investigating an attempted kidnapping.
Police said on Sunday at 10:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of S 3rd Street in reference to an attempted robbery.
Officers were advised that a woman and her 5-year-old grandson were at the Family Dollar at 1510 S 1st Street when a silver vehicle pulled up beside them.
The victim said that an unknown male wearing a black hoodie got out of the vehicle and approached the victim's car.
The man allegedly reached into the back seat and attempted to pull the child out of the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. The victim was able to flee the scene.
Officers were advised that the suspect vehicle had multiple subjects and then followed them before driving away. One of the suspects appeared to point a gun out of the window as the victim fled.
