TEMPLE, TEXAS — A Temple Park is one of six in the state that received recognition last week.
The Texas Recreation Park Society designated Jackson Park as a Lone Star Legacy Park. It received that recognition because it was one of the city's first parks and it continues to be a gathering place 100 days later.
The park also holds a special prominence in the community.
The park was made possible from the two families with ties to two community hospitals, Kings Daughters and Scott & White.
