TEMPLE, TX — Temple Fire & Rescue says they will be able to safely and quickly rescue people thanks to their new swift water rescue boat.
The 14-foot boat has a 40 horsepower motor that will "allow Temple firefighters to safely and quickly rescue people trapped in swift water situations."
With this boat, the department says they will not have to wait on a neighboring department for their rescue boat. They will also be able to assist other fire departments with swift water rescues if needed.
The $20,000 boat was funded in part by a grant from State Farm Insurance.
