Temple Fire reminds people to check smoke alarms after responding to multiple calls over the weekend

TEMPLE, TX — Temple Fire & Rescue is reminding residents to check their smoke alarms regularly after responding to multiple service calls over the weekend.

The department was called out to multiple residents for reports of fire and/or smoke. Temple Fire & Rescue says most were minor events with just a smell of smoke coming from their heater vents or a smell of smoke while outside in a neighborhood.

On Saturday, January 2, the department received:

  • Call for service in the 1800 block of South 39th Street at 4:52 a.m.
  • Two calls for service in the 13000 block of Rocky Lane between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, January 3, the department received:

  • Call for service in the 1100 block of South 9th Street at 5:26 a.m.
  • Call for service in the 700 block of Industrial Boulevard at 9:30 a.m.
  • Call for service in the 7700 block of Northgate Loop at 6:24 p.m.

Temple Fire & Rescue is asking residents to take a moment and check their smoke alarms, as well as perform regular checks on them.
