Temple Fire and Rescue responds to New Year's Day fire

TEMPLE, TX — Temple Fire and Rescue said a family is dealing with fire damage after a fire on New Year's Day.

The fire department said that they responded the fire at 2906 Ruggles Loop in Temple and saw light smoke and flames coming from the attic.

They were able to quickly locate the fire in the garage area and extinguish it.

The occupants of the home were present during the fire, but no one was injured.

Temple Fire Department Investigators determined that the fire originated in the attic space of the home, but the exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Temple EMS, Temple Police and Oncor Electric, all responded and assisted. Temple Fire and Rescue responded with 8 units and 23 personnel, to include investigators. The call was dispatched at 12:56 p.m. and the first unit arrived at 13:01 p.m. The fire was reported under control at 1:21 p.m. All units cleared the scene at 2:41 p.m.
