KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department has arrested a suspect after a standoff on Thursday.
The standoff happened on Whitmire Dr. and was over by 6 p.m.
Around 3 p.m., officers got a call about a man throwing rocks at vehicles on the roadway.
When they arrived, the man brandished what was perceived by police to be a weapon. The suspect then ran into his home.
SWAT and other units were called in to assist. The man was yelling at police, and at one point during the confrontation, he went on the roof to yell at officers.
Shortly after 6 p.m., the suspect came into his backyard and tactical officers took him down. They used flash bang grenades to force the suspect's pets into the corner of the backyard, so they could proceed with an arrest.
Police said this is not the first time they have to been called to the suspect's residence. No one else was in the home at the time.
