KILLEEN, TX — Graduation is typically a very special time for all who are involved.
For one young man, who is the first senior to graduate at his school, this time is extra special.
At a young age, Morgan Grandalski's family discovered he needed a specific learning environment in order to succeed.
"Since he does have the autism diagnosis, we knew that things were going to have to be different," said Keri Grandalski, Morgan's mother.
His therapist suggested Morgan go from homeschooling to enrolling in a school created for students like him.
"Actually it was when he was younger. His therapist suggested it, and I was reluctant. But once I saw the social benefits of it, it's been amazing. So at 13, he started at the school," said Keri.
His parents enrolled him in Oak Creek Academy in Killeen, an inclusive private school.
Thursday marked a very special day for Morgan. He was the first senior to graduate from Oak Creek Academy.
When asked how it feels, "Great, it feels great," said Morgan.
