KILLEEN, TX — The Killeen Police Department said they were responding to a standoff at a motel on Central Texas Expressway.
Police said that they received a call about a domestic disturbance over a cat at Executive Inn and Suites.
Police knocked on the door and asked the man in the motel room to come outside. He refused.
Police believed the man had a weapon, so they tried to get him out of the room.
Eventually they knocked down the door and sent in a K-9 officer. The dog grabbed the man.
Police were unable to tell us at the time why the cat was in the room.
Over a dozen people were evacuated from the hotel during the standoff. The hotel remains closed.
