KILLEEN, TX — A pair of Killeen ISD students received the best surprise from their hero dad Wednesday.
Chief Warrant Officer Sam Lidell, Jr. arrived home Tuesday night after seven months on a European rotation.
The soldier decided to surprise their two children at school two days before the start of spring break.
Just before dismissal Wednesday at Meadows Elementary, Chief Warrant Officer Lidell stepped from behind a column at the school library and walked up to his 4-year-old daughter Jasmine.
Less than an hour later, the soldier and his wife, January, along with Jasmine, stepped into a science class at Smill Middle School where sixth-grader Sam Liddell, III embraced his dad.
