Slight increase in MMR vaccinations follow after confirmed measles case

BELL COUNTY, TX — The Bell County Public Health District reports a slight rise in the number of MMR vaccinations following a confirmed case.

The health district confirmed a case of the measles in the area earlier this month. When Central Texas News Now first reported the story, four cases were under investigation for the highly-contagious virus.

All four patients were children that were either unvaccinated or had not completed the vaccine series. The child with the measles diagnosis was too young to be vaccinated for the illness.

The organization says it is unclear if the rise in vaccinations is linked to the reported measles case.
