KILLEEN, TX — Killeen police say the shooting victim found lying in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Wednesday has died.

Police said the victim, 18-year-old Zeontre De'Shon Horton, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:35 p.m.

Officers responded to the 9-1-1 call about a man suffering from a gunshot wound at 11:06 a.m. at the Bridgewater Apartments at 404 W Hallmark Ave.

Officers started to perform life-saving measures on the victim until paramedics arrived. The victim was then transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.
