BELL COUNTY, TX — Members of Project Spread A Lil’ Love are loading up their sleigh and getting ready to surprise another nursing home in Bell County with gifts and a surprise visit from Santa Claus this weekend.

Spreading Christmas magic is something the local non-profit group founder, Clarrisa Trevino, looks forward to every holiday season.

“A few years after my grandma passed away, I noticed that seniors didn’t have any people visit in the nursing home, so I wanted to do something to create something that they would enjoy and cherish,” Trevino said.

Depending solely on donations and volunteers, the group’s mission to make sure seniors experience warmth and joy at Christmas time is one that has resonated in the community.

“This year we have 100 seniors to get gifts for, and we pretty much have about 60 people that signed up to get gifts so we had a lot of groups sign up for 20 seniors, 15 seniors, so that helps,” Trevino said.

Clarrisa is gearing up for the group’s final stop at a nursing home in Killeen on Saturday, Dec. 21.

“They are just grateful and appreciative that somebody is thinking of them even though they have no idea who we are,” Trevino said.

Donations are accepted on the group's Facebook page and website which can be accessed by clicking here.
