FORT HOOD, TX — "Madden NFL" professional gamer Drini Gjoka will make an appearance at Fort Hood as part of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service's first e-sports expo.
Gjoka, a two-time "Madden NFL" world champion and Complexity professional gamer, is set to take part in a meet-and-greet as part of the Soldier E-sports Showdown, happening on October 25 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Exchange Clear Creek Shopping Center, Bldg. 4250, on Clear Creek Road.
Fort Hood is also hosting the Soldier E-sports Showdown Madden Tournament on October 26.
Gjoka's appearance is the highlight of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service's first e-sports expo, which will also feature demonstrations from various gaming brands including Acer, MSI, and Sony.
Fort Hood says soldiers contribute to the Army mission in a variety of career fields that draw on gaming skills, such as digital security and technology support. Gaming tournaments and events like the Soldier E-sports Showdown bring excitement to the military community while drawing awareness to the growing focus on E-sports.
