Power outage in Temple affects more than 2,000 customers

TEMPLE, TX — Several people were out of power in Temple Friday night.

Temple Fire and Rescue said just before 9 p.m., they responded to a downed power line/ arcing transformer in the area of W. Adams and NW HK Dodgen Loop.

They said a car hit a power pole wire, the tension cable. The wire broke and made contact with the transformer on the power pole causing the outage.

Oncor Electric reported 2,754 customers were affected by the outage.

Oncor was on the scene working to fix the problem.

The power was fixed around 9:30 p.m.
