TEMPLE, TX — Temple police said the 2-year-old girl who was taken from a hospital on Tuesday is safe.
Police said the mother of the girl contacted the department and said she left the hospital with the child and that the girl is safe.
Police said the girl was checked into Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center about 5 p.m. July 2 by two adults. The relationship the adults have to the girl was not disclosed by police.
Later, hospital staff noticed the girl was no longer in the hospital room. Police believe the adults who checked the girl into the hospital left with her.
Police gave an update Wednesday evening saying the girl is safe.
