TEMPLE, TX — A person has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run from March.

According to police, at approximately 9:21 p.m. on March 11, officers responded to a call of a person who had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers arrived to find 54-year-old Mario Arriaga laying in the roadway. Officers said the man had been struck by an unknown vehicle in the 1500 block of Scott Blvd.

The vehicle was no longer on the scene and officers were not able to gather any information on the driver.

Arriaga later died from his injuries at Baylor Scott and White.

On May 9, an arrest warrant was issued for Nikeya Sherrod Crumb, 18, for his role in Arriaga's death.

Crumb turned himself into the Coryell County Sheriff's Office on May 9.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help the family with the Arriaga's funeral arrangements.

Crumb is currently being held in the Bell County Jail. No bond has been set.
