KILLEEN, TX — Killeen police are investigating a string of burglaries that have happened at an apartment complex.
Police said on Saturday, officers received a call about a home being burglarized at 1216 North 8th Street. Neighbors and police said there were broken windows and obvious forced entry to both the bottom and top floors of the complex.
The reported item stolen was a newly installed security camera from a military family's unit.
The apartment complex also had two prior burglaries in late March and on May 14.
On May 14 at approximately 6:58 p.m., officers received a call about a home being burglarized at the complex. The stolen property that drew the most attention was a glock, fully loaded with hallow point bullets.
The gun was stolen from another military family's unit while they were away.
In late March, another burglary occurred.
The burglary happened in a downstairs unit, and property totaling over $1,000 was stolen while a child was asleep nearby.
All three instances were caught on camera, and are under investigation by the Killeen Police Department.
